Chennai: Renowned actor and Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) founder, Captain Vijayakanth, was admitted to a private hospital last week, citing severe cough, fever, and breathing issues. As per the latest hospital bulletin, the 71-year-old veteran actor’s health condition is unstable, and he is currently undergoing medical treatment with respiratory assistance.

Over the last 24 hours, Vijayakanth’s health has slightly deteriorated, prompting a team of doctors to closely monitor his condition, the hospital briefing to media, said. The actor-turned-politician, known for his powerful speeches, served as the Leader of the Opposition in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from 2011 to 2016.
